Parker's 1st Birthday

For Parker's 1st birthday we kicked off the celebrations with a family party, meeting on the beach and playing in the playground. Mcdonalds happy meals for lunch and party games. Parker didnt have a clue what was going on but he loves playing with all his presents.
On the day of Parkers actual birthday he woke up with Grandma and Grandad here, he open presents and we headed off to the play barn with some little friends, it was a lovely first birthday. Our little boy is one, I cant believe it!!!

Just a quick update on our life, Parker is now 11 months and growing up so fast, he has just taught himself to crawl down the stairs backwards, he has been crawling up them for months but now the cleaver little thing can come down which makes life alot less stressful.
Parker is walking around the furniture and climbing up things, he can climb onto our bed and then jumps off head first, he has no fear, he is a little dare devil, cant wait to take him to a theme park and get him on a little rollercoaster as he loves being in the car with all the windows down going fast, he just laughs his head off, so he will love it.
He loves to read books, he can say book, well something that resembles book, he can also say all done and again.
Life is going by so quick i cant believe Parker is one next month, i have been back at work for just over a month now so things are busy, the weekend are always busy aswell usually doing family things. This weekend we were in London for our friend Fi's Baby shower, her little man is due November as well, so it will be great for Parker to have a little friend to play with when we all get together.
This weekend we are having a girls weekend with Mum, Beth and Lucy at Lucy's house, I cant wait.

A week of isolation!!

Well Parker Bear has the Chicken Pox!!

Summertime Fun!!

Parker was invited and attended his first birthday party where his two cousins hired a soft play room. At first he wasn't sure what was going on and what he should do, so mummy and daddy showed him how to play on the slide and in the ball pit. We had a great time and look forward to many more birthday invites, however Parker would like to ask, that if anymore invitations are coming his way, could they please include his three best friends, Upsey Daisy, Iggle Piggle and Macca Pacca! Thank you

Lucy & Julian's Wedding

Well the day finally arrived where we married Lucy off to Julian Harvey. The weeks leading up to the wedding were full of last minute preparations, tears and lots of prayers that the rain will at least stop for an hour of pictures!!

We spent all day Friday decorating the chapel and reminding Julian that tomorrow he was getting married and therefore will need to turn up. Luckily for Lucy he did turn up and everything went swimmingly, the rain even stopped to allow for pictures in the park. unfortunately we never managed to get any pictures of the happy couple, however below are lots of pictures of Parker, Karen and general pictures of the wedding experience. Pictures of the bride and groom will have to follow.

Our little family..

People have been hounding us to upload more pictures for weeks now, so here they are.....

How a trip to COSTCO almost broke our marriage!!

OK so last Saturday we decided to take a trip to Costco to get some food for a friends BBQ. This seemed to be a simple task and an exciting day out, the sun was shining and the day ahead seemed promising. Oh how i was wrong, i have only visited Costco once before, however Karen has been there twice so she assured me that she knew exactly where it was. After driving the 40 minutes down to where Costco is, i turned to Karen and asked her what junction we needed to get off the motorway at. Now anyone who knows me, can imagine my frustration as the response i get from Karen is "I don't know, do you not know". This conversation takes place just as we are about to approach the junction we need to get off at, so due to the heated conversation taking place, we miss it. We drive down to the next junction, get off and then head back to the correct one. Once we had turned off the motor way, i again ask Karen, where now? I bet you can guess what her reaction was, "I don't know, do you not know". Well we drove round for 10 minutes, with Costco in front of us, with neither of us knowing how to get into the car park. As if i wasn't mad enough already, Karen made us go round the same roundabout 3 times as each junction she told me to get off at was the wrong one. We finally arrive at Costco, however somehow the trip which seemed so promising and fun, somehow lost its magic. Lesson learnt: Don't trust Karen when she says, I know where it is, i have been there twice.

How time flies

Our little boy is growing up so fast I can hardly believe it, Today he crawled into the kitchen to find me, I could hear his cries getting closer and closer as I was washing the dishes and then I saw his little head poke round the corner. At the moment he screams the house down as soon as I leave the room, I have been trying to sneak around so he doesn't notice I am gone but he is to clever.
He has 2 teeth at the bottom and chews everything he See's most of the time he goes for my face and tries to chew the life out of it.
He has a cute little personality all of his own and he is quite particular as to what he wants and when he wants it, this is made known with the loudest screams you have ever heard, he is still so small you wouldn't believe he could make so much noise.
At the moment he is sitting in front to the TV watching the Fresh Prince (Starting him young) Kicking the cable box, he is going to be trouble.

Parkers POOP!!!

I am sure those parents reading this can sympathise with this and have probably had this experience a few times. On Friday I took Parker into town with my friend Kat, she picked us up and on the way into town a smelt this awful smell, yep he had definitely pooped. I hadn't taken his whole changing bag with me as we hadn't had any bad incidents for weeks that was a mistake. I thought I would just lay him on the back seat of the car and change him, I took him out of his seat laid him down and noticed that his sock had poo on, he had poo running down both legs and managed to get poop in between every toe, I had to use almost a whole package of wet wipes to clean him up and then wrapped him in my scarf and took him into Primark to buy him new trousers and socks, i am sure people thought i was a gypsy walking around with a half dressed child, needless to say he came home and had a very thorough Bath. Joyful day!!!

Its a Hard Rock life for us.....

As many of you will have read from Lauren's blog, she refers to me as the cocky English man who always brags about winning and being the best at things...well seeing as i did win most of the competitions we had, i say if the shoe fits why not wear it with pride. The reason i am writing this blog is to comment on the fact that i have found something that we have much better than America, whilst out there we thought of so many reasons why America was better, however one thing that did disappoint us was your Hard Rock Cafe...although the company was great, food and drink good, the atmosphere wasn't on par with what we were used to. So the first weekend we came home, we met with some friends and headed off to Hard Rock London to see how it should be done....I have to say, England wins hands down on this one, not only was the food great, the atmosphere was fantastic, a world away from the dreary Denver cafe with girls with should not be wearing mini skirts!!! The only thing that would have made it better would be to have our American friends join our English ones....oh and free refills..Maybe this will happen soon.

Parker Bears Bumbo

We brought Parker a Bumbo as he tried one out in America and seemed to love it, we only got it yesterday and the 1st time I put him in it he has figured out how to get out of it, granted its not the conventional way but he leans so far over the side that he falls out head first onto the floor, this doesnt seem to upset or phase him so I guess he is ok! Kids hey?

Fun in the U.S of A!

John, Parker and I have just arrived back from a 2 week trip in Denver Colorado. We spent 2 weeks with our fun american friends The Gillespie Girls and Guy. We spent the time playing games, eating lots of junk food, watching Chopped, The Office, The Marriage Ref and the Twilight saga. We took Parker to the movies to watch Date night, no one battered an eye which i thought was strange, a friday night at the movies with a 5 month old baby, that wouldnt be allowed in England, but anyway. We ate out lots, went hot tubbing, had a trifile off and a chopped championship, ooh and I nearly forgot about all the shopping, we made some new friends and caught up with old one's. We were sad when the time came to say our goodbyes and head home I cant wait for the next time. We love u guys
